Underpaid?(by HiringX) started as a salary transparency tool for Indian tech and non-tech professionals — and grew into a small, opinionated platform for the parts of careers people don't talk about publicly.
Salary conversations in India are still taboo. Most professionals have no idea how their compensation compares to peers at similar companies and levels. That information asymmetry quietly benefits employers at the expense of employees. We exist to flip that.
The exchange is simple: share your anonymous CTC, and we tell you where you stand. Every submission makes the data more accurate for everyone.

How we keep the data honest
We use statistical outlier detection (IQR method) to flag and exclude unrealistic submissions. Company pages only appear once a company has 3+ verified submissions, and individual roles within a company only show once they have 3+ data points. Submissions are rate-limited per device to prevent spam, and gibberish company/role names are rejected automatically.
Anonymous by design
For salary submissions, ratings, and analytics, we never collect names, emails, or personally identifiable information — just an anonymous device ID used for rate-limiting and dedup. Mentorship bookings need a name, email, and WhatsApp number because there's a real session to coordinate, but that information is private to the mentor and the operator.
