The Opportunity
We are looking for a highly technical Engineering Manager to lead the Insights team at Postman. This role sits at the intersection of AI-powered developer workflows, observability, and platform engineering.
What You’ll Do
Lead engineering strategy, execution, and delivery for the Agentic Onboarding and Insights pods
Define and execute clear technical roadmaps, milestones, and success criteria
Drive architectural decisions and provide deep technical leadership across backend systems and distributed platforms
Stay hands-on with coding, debugging, prototyping, and technical problem-solving on a day-to-day basis
Mentor and support engineers through a culture of trust, psychological safety, and high performance
Help stabilize and grow a team transitioning from previous leadership changes
Partner closely with Product, Design, GTM, and leadership teams to align engineering outcomes with business goals
Participate in customer conversations, sales engagements, and feedback loops to better understand user pain points
Build scalable engineering practices with strong institutional thinking and engineering rigor
Balance execution across two distinct domains:
AI-driven onboarding and autonomous workflows
Observability and insights platform capabilities
Collaborate effectively across globally distributed teams, particularly with stakeholders in the US

Managing two technically distinct product domains simultaneously
Balancing deep technical contribution with people leadership
Coordinating effectively across India and US time zones

About You
Must Have
10–12+ years of backend engineering experience
Strong hands-on technical depth with the ability to dive deep into complex engineering problems
4+ years of experience leading and mentoring engineering teams
Strong institutional thinking and ability to grow engineers
Comfortable coding regularly while managing teams
Experience working in larger-scale engineering organi
