About the Team:
Recharges and Utilities is a core business pillar for Paytm, encompassing 20+ essential categories including Mobile Recharge, Electricity, DTH, and Loans As a Manager in this team, you will be the 'Growth Engine'—using deep data insights to identify opportunities and executing high-impact campaigns to acquire and retain millions of users.
The Role: Analytical Execution & Category Growth
We are looking for a high-ownership individual who is equally comfortable writing SQL queries in Hive as they are designing a marketing campaign. You will own the data lifecycle of your assigned categories and use that data to drive P&L growth and user retention.
Core Roles & Responsibilities
1. Data Operations & Analytics (The 'How')
Data Extraction: Perform daily data extraction from HIVE/BigQuery and prepare user-readable transaction reports.
Query Management: Write and optimize SQL queries on a day-to-day basis to track business health and perform ad-hoc deep dives.
Automation: Use Advanced Excel and internal tools to automate recurring reports, streamlining MIS processes for the leadership team.
Data Modeling: Translate business hurdles (e.g., 'Why is electricity bill churn increasing?') into data models to find actionable solutions.
2. Growth & Category Management (The 'What')
P&L Support: Assist in delivering revenue targets by optimizing costs and identifying bottom-line enhancing strategies.
User Lifecycle: Identify specific user cohorts (e.g., 'lapsed rent payers') and execute custom growth campaigns to drive activation and reactivation.
Funnel Optimization: Monitor the user journey from landing to transaction; identify drop-off points and suggest/implement funnel improvements.
Retention & GMV: Track and take ownership of key parameters including Daily Active Users (DAU), GMV, and Month-on-Month (MoM) retention.
3. Marketing & Campaign Execution
ROI Analysis: Measure the performance of every campaign, ensuring that marketing spend is driving efficient growth.
Competitive Intelligence: Keep a pulse on market trends and competitor offerings to ensure Paytm’s utility categories remain market leaders.
Superpowers & Skills Required
•Experience: 2-4 years of experience in a Data Analyst, Business Analyst, or •Growth role (preferably within E-commerce, Retail, or Fintech).
Technical Proficiency:
•Advanced Excel (VBA/Macros is a plus) and strong SQL skills.
•Experience with Hive, BigQuery (BQ), or Python for data manipulation.
•Analytical Mindset: Background in Engineering, Math, Statistics, or Economics. •You should be able to see the 'story' behind the numbers.
