Senior Engineer – Distributed File Systems & Linux Platform

The Opportunity

We have an outstanding career opportunity for Senior Engineer- Distributed File Systems and Linux Platform at Pune, Hyderabad and Bangalore locations. As a Senior Engineer you will design, and performance optimization of large-scale distributed storage/file systems on Linux platforms. This role requires deep expertise in kernel internals, storage stacks, and distributed systems at scale.

What you’ll do…

Design of scalable, fault-tolerant distributed file systems (e.g., object/block/file storage)

Define system architecture for high availability, consistency, and performance

Drive design decisions across storage, networking, and compute layers

Deep involvement in Linux kernel, filesystem internals, and I/O stack

Optimize performance across: VFS layer, page cache, block layer, Networking stack (TCP/IP, RDMA), Debug kernel-level issues (panic, memory leaks, I/O bottlenecks).

Design and implement: Replication, erasure coding, Consensus protocols (Raft/Paxos), Metadata management systems, Ensure strong/ eventual consistency models

Analyze and improve system performance (latency, throughput, IOPS)

Conduct benchmarking and capacity planning

Optimize for large-scale deployments (PB-scale storage)

Build systems for fault detection, recovery, and self-healing

Implement observability:

Metrics

Tracing

Logging

Root cause analysis of production issues

Who you are…

Bachelor's degree required.

3+ years of experience in systems engineering.

Strong expertise in : Linux kernel internals, Filesystems (ext4, XFS, btrfs, ZFS concepts), Distributed storage systems (Ceph, HDFS, GlusterFS, Lustre).

Deep understanding of Memory management, Concurrency and synchronization, Networking protocols

Debugging & Tools : perf, ftrace, eBPF, gdb, System profiling
