We are looking for a Staff Software Development Engineer, Provisioning Platform to join our Zero Trust Exchange department. This is a hybrid position based in San Jose, CA (HQ), reporting to the Sr. Director, Software Development Engineering.
The Staff Software Development Engineer will help build Zscaler’s next-generation Provisioning Platform, supporting SKU provisioning, entitlements, workflow orchestration, subscription lifecycle management, and self-service experiences across Zscaler products. This is a hands-on backend engineering role focused on building reliable Java/Spring Boot services, APIs, workflow-driven systems, and cloud-native platform capabilities, including support for Agentic AI-assisted provisioning experiences.
What you’ll do (Role Expectations)
Design and develop backend services for provisioning, licensing, entitlements, approvals, orchestration workflows, and subscription lifecycle management
Build API-first services using Java/Spring Boot, REST, gRPC, OpenAPI, OAuth2, JWT, and secure service-to-service communication
Develop reliable workflow-driven and event-driven systems using asynchronous processing, retries, failure handling, durable state management, Kafka/RabbitMQ, and workflow orchestration tools
Implement platform capabilities that support Agentic AI-assisted guided workflows, recommendations, troubleshooting, and automation
Build reusable components, SDKs, tooling, automation, observability, and operational controls to improve platform reliability and developer productivity
